Deauth attack protection!

Postby ctacb_ » Wed Oct 03, 2018 10:57 am

Hi.

I think many know that exists method to attack any 802.11bgn network with 2$ esp jammer.
http://deauth.me/
5 minute, 4 steps - and here you are.
Many kids use this shit.

I did readed about this attack, and found two solutions:
1 - Managment Frame Protection (supported by hostapd in OpenWRT).
2 - Some 802.11g devices (for example ARUBA controller) has option - DoS Protect:
"If enabled, APs ignore deauthentication frames from clients. This prevents a successful deauth attack from being carried out against the AP. This does not affect third-party APs."
https://www.arubanetworks.com/techdocs/ ... ual_ap.htm

1 - Mean that someone can add new 802.11w function in lib to support "Managment Frame Protection". In this case, esp32 can immediately work with any OpenWRT router and be in safety.
2 - Mean that someone can change Deauth function in lib to ignore Deauth frames on client (esp32) side and someone can change deatuh function in Hostapd or linux kernel to support it from AP side.

If anyone won't to help all of us with this - You are welcome!
I hope to be continued.
