OTA via Command Line

Postby mikemoy » Fri Aug 23, 2019 6:21 pm

A easy way to upload your firmware via the command line for OTA updates. Handy when developing / working in your local environment.
Lets face it, when you get further along in your project, and put the ESP32 into your device and its several feet away or outside USB flashing is unrealistic.

Video and sources here, and hey if you want to make it better go for it, and if espressif is listening, it would be great to add something like this to your examples. (Not saying it needs to be this, but some easy quick way like it)

Nice work! I've long considered writing something like this for the same reasons but never got around to it. I like that you are just using curl to send the data - makes the interface quite easy. Thanks for sharing!
