Wifi problems (can connect, but it is unreliable)

I kind of gave up on the wifi for now, and focused on other things in my project.
But next thing I am going to try is to see if they can connect to each other (have one board as an AP running a small server). What I really need is the ability to transfer files wirelessly.

I wish there was some test program that could be used to test and debug wifi problems.
