UART events!

Using this Espressif sample the default ESP32 USB serial port UART events can be used. No polling!

Source:
https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/bl ... ple_main.c

Sending a random 43 character text over USB to a Wemos Lolin32 Lite created this USB response:

Code: Select all

[0;32mI (944733) myUart: uart[0] event:[0m
[0;32mI (944733) myUart: [UART DATA]: 43[0m
[0;32mI (944733) myUart: [DATA EVT]:[0m
The Quick Brown Fox Jumps Over the Lazy Dog

I wraped the sample in a class to get the code out of the way

To test include uartdemo.h and call myUart.init()

uartdemo.h:

Code: Select all

Avoiding intensive polling may save some CPU power?

I am able to type in the character into console. how can i come out from infinity while loop ? and print the statement? how i can increase the size of character or string and make it also able to take float number? Because the user input value i will take this into BLE read descriptor

Hi all,
to use functions like scanf, that are interrupt driven you should change the UART driver to interrupt driven mode, see https://docs.espressif.com/projects/esp ... out-stderr?.

An example that does this is the uart_select_example from idf.
Take a look at it as well!

Is there an elegant way to read a string the same way fgetc() works with something like scanf() with hold while loop or something?
