esp-idf monitor not responding [in Eclipse]

I installed 4.1 through the install new software feature in eclipse and everything worked like charm. I got no errors , I can build and run examples and indexing works fine. However the terminal button does not response in any way, it does not open anything. This was working before I updated to 4.1. I can open the terminal through Window->Show view->Terminal, but it does not show the esp-idf monitor version. I also reinstalled TM Terminal, which did not help. It gives no errors of any kind. Just silence.
An ideas?
