Validating frequency of external crystals

Hello!

I'm looking for a way to validate the operating frequency of the 40MHz crystal in one of our designs attached to a ESP32-D0WDQ6. Is there a way to output the 40MHz clock onto a pin on the system? I see that you can for the 32kHz clock, although, that isn't documented in the technical reference manual at all (inside componnents/soc/esp32/test it pokes at some undocumented registers to do this).
