External Power Pin on Dev board?

Postby glennbech » Mon Sep 25, 2017 5:39 am

Hi,

I need to know if the ESP-32 DevKitC has a Voltage input pin, or if it's okay to just provide 5V to its 5V pin to power it. Arduino boards have a vIn pin that does what I want. As you might understand from my question, I want to power the board with an external power supply, as I have two MCUs in my project.

Any help makes my day :)

Yes, The Pin labeled "5V" on the PCB can be used to power the board (source current) or it can be used to sink current for use off of the PCB as long as the total current is not more than what can be sourced from the USB cable. All ESP32 I/O must be 3.3V
