WiFi Coverage Issues with Nano ESP32 C6

Postby yoyotus » Mon Dec 02, 2024 7:14 pm

I recently acquired a Nano ESP32 C6 from Muslab, and I've been experiencing limited WiFi coverage. Is this a common issue?
When I scan for networks on Windows, I can see around 15 networks, but with my ESP32 C6, I only detect 3 to 5 networks. I've soldered a pigtail with a connector and a 5dBi antenna onto the board, but I'm still only able to see about 5 networks. I also cut the PCB antenna connection and soldered the pigtail to check the scanned networks.(Do I need to add a 0-ohm resistor when using an external antenna with this model?)
For scanning, I've used WiFiManager and my own code.
Is low WiFi coverage typical for the ESP32 series?
Any insights or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
