Downloaded the mysys2 for windows msys2-i686-20161025.exe ran the file. Builds the directories and copies the files as expected.
When I try to execute mingw32.exe it puts up a window with a message about
Error: Could not fork child process: Resource temporarily unavailable (-1).
DLL rebasing may be required; see 'rebaseall / rebase --help'.
Attempted to rebase but script fails.
At this point esp-idf is non functional and development stops
This is just another example of new stuff breaks old stuff and developer left in the cold. This all worked a month or so ago
mingw32 fails out of the box
Re: mingw32 fails out of the box
Hi Frank,
Sorry to hear you've come across this problem. What version of IDF are you using?
The latest msys pre-built toolchain is 20170330, you can find it in the docs here:
http://esp-idf.readthedocs.io/en/latest ... hain-setup
From memory, some of the older msys releases used a different command to start the MSYS shell. However if you can upgrade to the latest then this is probably the best way forward unless you especially need a much older IDF version.
