You could be right.
And pSRAM pins are "TBD"

the confuse is, using "SD_CMD" for "/WP" / where "SD_CMD" was "/CS"
..and so on.

in most case

but we are in initial release V1.
and perhabs this is only "symbolic" character

but you must admit
VDD_SDIO_NC is bad.
or not?

in D2WD VDD_SDIO is still not available too ?

how is (was) it in D2WD?

btw:
opposite wrover modul with psram, R9 is NC
we have to do this then by self? or is it a 3.3V eMbeddedFlash?

or there is efuse ( 1.8V ) done from manufacturer,
think the SIP modul has D2WD inside, is it not?

we see when it comes on desktop.

this was gone fast - now just arrived on my desktop 8-)

and now will take time for a round of play with it.

Will it be able to connect to an SD card? I mean, using hardware SPI or SD bus or something hardware based not by bit banging GPIO in software.

first test with ESP32_PICO_Core_Board_V2 for define the done VDD_SDIO intern
and later must use supply pSRAM connect from extern ( 1.8 or 3.3 )
pico-d4-bootstrap-flash_3.3V.jpg
pico-d4-bootstrap-flash_3.3V.jpg (112.01 KiB) Viewed 14594 times
so the "eMbeddedFlash" ( packaged flash ) in PICO-D4 is a 3.3V "packaged" Flash right?
@ESP_igrr ( i remember in D2WD was it done as "eMbedded" into SoC by 1.8 right? )

next steps i will test pSRAM to connect
i have here 1.2V wide (1.2-1.7) , 1.8V, 3.3V
in size of 32Mbit, 64Mbit, 128Mbit and 256Mbit
all in SOP-8
8-)

knowings:
D2WD has 16MBit eMbedded Flash in SoC
D2WD-16Mbit.jpg
D2WD-16Mbit.jpg (88.77 KiB) Viewed 14592 times
further results:
where
PICO-D4 has 32MBit packaged Flash on SoC from 'GD' and it is 3.3V
PICO-D4-32Mbit.jpg
PICO-D4-32Mbit.jpg (40.71 KiB) Viewed 14592 times
right?

i will test then 3.3V pSRAM next time then.
can test then 1.8V too cause Flash itself is 3.3V so this damage not the flash over the dataline if i use 1.8.

I think, packaged 3.3V ( 2.7 - 3.6 ) 32Mbit Flash is from GigaDevice
and it is from GD25Q family

Datasheet:

Short most important things:
( Maybe a few good points for recording in the current revision of the PICO-D4 data sheet )

◆Standard, Dual, Quad SPI
-Standard SPI: SCLK, CS#, SI, SO, WP#, HOLD#
-Dual SPI: SCLK, CS#, IO0, IO1, WP#, HOLD#
-Quad SPI: SCLK, CS#, IO0, IO1, IO2, IO3

◆Low Power Consumption
-20mA maximum active current
-5uA maximum power down current

◆Advanced Security Features
-3*1024-Byte Security Registers With OTP Locks
-Discoverable parameters(SFDP) register

◆ Full voltage range:2.7~3.6V

◆ Minimum 100,000 Program/Erase Cycles -

◆ Data retention
-20-year data retention typical

i am thrilled with the range of the the OnBoard™ SMD 2400 antenna.
it comes from the OnBoard™ SMD family. there are 868MHz and 5GHz and other Ant too from this swedish company.
from DigiKey list the DigiKey PartNo is 1532-1001-1-ND

for house and garden completely sufficient.

not breadboard modul but breakout for build it or on own pcb -
what is your saying to this PICO-SMD-Board?

i think this is the mistake ivan, there are 2 differ infos in the datasheet
pins.jpg
pins.jpg (19.11 KiB) Viewed 14397 times
and (small confuse ) shematic says this what you thinked,
Image

and the other says
The integrated SPI flash is connected to GPIO6, GPIO7, GPIO8, GPIO9, GPIO10 and GPIO11
Image

i think there is a mistake in one of this status.

a second hint/tip
if we compare order info D2WD and PICO-D4 as SIP
we get infos about eMbeddedFlash 16Mbit ( pins you thinked ) and SPI Flash ( 32Mbit ) from Document "Order info" ( offline just in time for revise )
Flash-Diff.jpg
Flash-Diff.jpg (47.38 KiB) Viewed 14397 times
i tested only flash just in time, and there is GD Flash packaged (SPI Flash) like in the prev post in this thread.

have not tested pSRAM (CS IO16, CLK IO17 ) and others just in time ( perhabs coming weekend ) but i think the "packaged" Flash is connected usually pins,
not sure, so please be careful with this untested info: i think it is connected like a usually SPI flash.
( GPIO6, GPIO7, GPIO8, GPIO9, GPIO10 and GPIO11 )

the one thing what is differ is, that this packaged SPI Flash is 3.3V and not 1.8V.
so if we share datalines with pSRAM later, then we damage not the packaged SPI Flash ( 3.3 ) with pSRAM (1.8 )
but in opposite direction the pSRAM (1.8) , so i will test first 3.3V pSRAM (32,64,128,256) then with this, like the 3.3V 64Mbit from lyontek in Wrover-Kit 8-)

i come back to this later again after more testings.
need no info can work on it like it is (do not worry)

just in time, the Documents of Pico Datasheet and Order Info are offline ( in revise i think ).
