it was on side but perhabs on next side ( right side )WiFive wrote:This pic doesn't show gpio12 pullup resistorESP_Sprite wrote: but I can post the schematic.
not sure is this important:
we have more as one versions of wrover
( ** not sure is this the same Rev/Version like in new Wrover Kit with Wrover Modul )
- the only one, that was shipped dez 2016 with IPX extern Antenn Con. ( Rev 0 Timestamp 502016 )
- the only one, that now on market on new Wrover Kit and without IPX, ( Rev 1 Timestamp 122017 )
( samples )
- ** the only one, that now comes as Wrover Modul with IPX ( new "batch" End August ) ( see Order Info )
- ** the only one, that now comes as Wrover Module without IPX ( new "batch" End August ) ( see Order Info )
best wishes

Re: which new "esp" 8 pin ic is this on the new esp32 modul? ;-)
FWIW, I have versions with and without IPX here. The PCB is exactly the same (both have the PCB antenna as well as the footprint for the IPX connector), the difference is just in in the BOM.
Re: which new "esp" 8 pin ic is this on the new esp32 modul? ;-)
i think on Lyra Audio Board the Wrover is different. ( if you mean BOM = other Valu/Type - then ok - PCB is the same )ESP_Sprite wrote:FWIW, I have versions with and without IPX here. the Dez Version ( 502016 ) has as R9 4.7 K Ohm, the new Design 10 K Ohm - this BOM is different.

after successfull thingsrudi ;-) wrote:
does psram 1.8 only work if flash is a specific flash and 1.8 too and VD_SDIO domain must set to 1.8 ?
i tried many things - many firmwares - many flashes - many hour's many days and now 2 weeks!
my hope was now TXB0108
DevKitC , 3.3V Flash
compile, SPI mode DIO
compile, SPI mode QIO
same with ESP32-Nano32-Gravitech, 3.3V Flash
compile, SPI mode DIO
compile, SPI mode QIO
LevelShifter 8bit bidirectional TXB0108
all lines
-SD0
-SD1
-SD2
-SD3
-SCLK
-/CE
/CE pulled up 1.8 V like shematic from WROVER you posted.
VDD 1.8 V
What interna secret do we know yet?
...
me comes over thinking measuring the pins from SoC / Flash to pinheader one time
and i was and
and i thinked again, that we do read the ID by simple 4 or 8 MHz SPI
so the Read ID was now successfull here too on this "long wire" way
so the long wire was not the reason to can not read the ID by simple SPI.
( Flash is 1.8 and MTDI was pulled up, VDD_SDIO 1.8 was wired ledout to the breadboard VCC row for connect PSRAM and so on )
the high speed theme on SPI ( 40 MHz ) is an other theme.
i think this can not be done by this wire - same is with the camera example.
we need short very short lineslike the Wroom32 mod with PSRAM
i will repeat this test with TXB0108 and 3.3 Flash again
also i will test now without TXB0108 and 3.3V Flash and 3.3V PSRAM 64Mbit next days.
i think i am not allone to missread the pinheader on Wroom32, Wrover, DevKitC, Nano32...
i post a picture, that says more as 1000 words, i am sure some guys will be too
best wishes

@rudi You forgot about https://esp32.com/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=634 ?
Wrover module on that lyra is probably just old design rev

you are full right! and you have understand what i wanted to say with this SD_Data0...IO[1]
i have not remember me on this thread from Charles - cause i overflow the "swap theme" and have more the NIC theme in my eyes -
good point WiFive!!
but yes - i read again now - this match here the same "missthinkings" on wireing from this pinheaders.
i did the same steps in wire SD_Data0..SD_Data3 with IO[0]..IO[3] and this was wrong
not sure what this SD_DATA0..SD_DATA1 then is ( very bad documented honest )
( EMI Filter )
and WiFive - it can be - that this PCB need to follow high speed layout - if we want "use this pins for psram"
i do not think, that this pins ever was thinked from espressif to use it for the "psram", or have not knowed which pSRAM HW comes out on market or is "compatible" cause the VDD_SDIO was never ledout too, i think this was never thinked to ledout pSRAM or not knowed that we need 1.8 psram ( noise ) ...
for reserve "thinking" there is on wroom32 a role in metal case over the VCC pin of flash - testpoint for test case later?
wrover does it not more have - psram inside - not need - all testings done .. )
other thinking was, perhabs for a second flash there can use the pinout SD_Data0...
i will devinitiv mount under the modul a "pcb" ( no wireing ) to this pinheader and test the high speed compatiblity and fitness.
it is enough if wroom32 pinheader is ready for this - ( i did the mod on flash pins for data pins - the next is from this pinheader )
Wrover Revision:
i think the Lyra Revision ( left side ) comes before the engineering version ( right side )
the engineering version has 4.7 K ( 4.667 ) Ohm as pull up for bootstrap.
i have not opened a wrover on wrover-kit with silicon Rev1 - but will do the next steps.
there must be then a 10 K Ohm resistor from hearing HRD.
Well watched - thanks for the "swapped" reference WiFive!
yes i forget about.
best wishes
