How to flash the ESP-AT Firmware through USB D+ and D-?

Postby ggeorge » Fri May 13, 2022 10:14 am

Hello ESP32 Forum,

My name is Geoffrey K George and I am from Trimble Mobility Solutions. We have made a purchase for ESP32C3-Mini modules from your Indian Vendor RaByte.

We are facing an issue now with flashing the ESP-AT firmware. I am attaching the snippet of our schematic with the module in the attachments. We had done our schematic review with you and the review report is also attached as well. We tried flashing the ESP-AT using UART first, since we were not asked to take the CTS and RTS pin out to J11 Connector, we are not able flash now. As per your RaByte engineers CTS and RTS pins are required to flash the module firmware through UART.

Since Re-Spin is clearly not an option for us, is there anyway you can support us with the firmware flashing with just the pins in the J11 Connector. We tried using USB D+ and D- pins taken out in the J11 connector, it only shows USB not recognized, we tried swapping the USB D+ and D- pins as well. Still no luck. Kindly support us here as it is very urgent.

Did you remove C136/C137? There aren't supposed to be any capacitors on USB data lines.
