Cloning ESP32 WROOM 32

Hi,

I have a devkit which I need to clone.
It has D0WDQ6 rev.1 chipset.
The new devkit I bought has DOWD rev.3 chipset.

The application communicates on the CAN BUS (using D4/D5 pins), opening a TCP session with a backend, ...
There is a local webserver running showing the status.

I managed to read the entire original flash (using esptool read_flash 0 all file.bin, and program the new one)
Everything seems to be working - local webserver, TCP connection with the server. Only thing is that seems the CAN communication is faulty.
Unfortunately I do not have the sources for debugging.

Can anyone think of a reason for malfunctioning CAN communication in the new chipset comparing to the old one?
Any idea for workaround/fix?

(I am currently trying to but the same devkit as the original... hard to get...)

Check the PCB traces that are related to the CAN communication.
