Hi guys,

While designing our next gen product, we found out that WROOM32 actually have two different trace antenna layout.

This really creates problems for our PCB design. We will be using an extern antenna with our product and really need to make sure want have the test points at the right place.

We sourced our esp32s from taobao and it seems all of them have the v1.0 design. It also might be the case that some of them do have v1.1 design but their artworks haven't been updated ?

Can anyone from within expressif confirm which layout is the most current one and from where we can source the version reliably?

That is interesting, v1.1 design is from DEC 2016 but I don't think I have seen a pic of one anywhere. Maybe that will be for rev1 rollout. There is another older design too but probably not in circulation anymore.

Yea, I just can't seem to get hold of the v1.1 anywhere. Someone at Expressif please help!

I'll ask around to see if I can find out what the latest revision is. If you want to have specific versions, your best bet may be to contact sales@espressif.com; they should be able to work something out for you.

ESP-WROOM-32 provided by sales department now is v1.0.

v1.1 is a better design. If you want to design your own module, you can use this reference design.

Since v1.0 has been mass produced and has gained many certifications, we have no plan to MP v1.1 version again and will continue providing v1.0 version. So if you decide to purchase modules from Espressif directly, please use v1.0.

We will add v1.0 on the website and make notice.
