ESP32-WROOM-32 vs ESP32-WROOM-32D

can someone tell me about the differences of the ESP32-WROOM-32 and the ESP32-WROOM-32D Modules?

Thanks for the link ... however, according to the datasheet, there is no difference in electrical and functional specifications other than the different package of the SoC inside the module. So, in production, it is completely exchangeable, right?

ESP32-WROOM-32D / ESP32-WROOM-32U
Both modules integrate the ESP32-D0WD chip which has a smaller footprint than the chip ESP32-D0WDQ6 installed in ESP32-WROOM-32.

@wneudert Can you get your ESP32-WROOM-32D to work? We switch from ESP32-WROOM-32 to ESP32-WROOM-32D. It is completely not working. We can't even flash a Arduino helloworld on ESP32-WROOM-32D. Help!

Now it is WROOM-32E !
So, how is 32E different from the 32D ?
Is the 32D now phased out and only 32E will be available henceforth OR are both slightly different in some way ?

Yes, it is a little confusing to see so many different part numbers and there does not seem to be any quick reference available to know the difference between the different modules, which ones are obsolete etc.

Found some information on the specifications of the various Modules & Devices here :

However, information on peripherals and the difference between similar parts is not given.
