By "official Espressif modules" I'm assuming (yes, dangerous) you mean the metal encapsulated WROOM / WROVER modules?

I have both those and ones with a bare chip. The TTGO T7 has a bare ESP32 chip marked as

and the flash chip (not the PSRAM chip) is marked as:

which should be a 16Mb flash chip.

This used to "work" under QIO except we can now see that it was really DIO that was being used (up until v3.3.0) but doesn't work at all under later frameworks with QIO, it just constantly reboots as I previously reported with a trace output; now QOUT is the best it will support.
