ESP32-S3 Error when flashing Chip Revision v3.8

Postby meltdown03 » Wed Nov 16, 2022 12:24 am

After this commit: https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/co ... a816deed44, I get this error when trying to flash my ESP32-S3 DevkitC-1 WROOM-1 (E2N8) << Does this mean engineering? I can't find any info about this module:

Code: Select all

A fatal error occurred: bootloader/bootloader.bin requires chip revision in range [v0.0 - v0.99] (this chip is revision v3.8). Use --force to flash anyway.
If I `git checkout` the commit before it and flash something, it works and shows my chip revision as v308 in the bootloader output. Running esptool.pt chip_id shows it as v3.8 which seems really high. I have a different ESP32-S3 DevkitC-1 (D3N8R8) which shows as v0.1 and works fine with the commit applied
Do I maybe have some engineering sample that will just not work correctly unless I burn the eFuse that ignores the max revision?
