Running ESP32 in sealed enclosure

Postby CoffeeBeans » Thu Feb 17, 2022 3:21 am

Is it safe to run an ESP32 in a sealed enclosure? It will be using WiFi, and will be operating under a coffee machine, so I would like it to be in a sealed container in case the machine ever has a leak.

Yes. Make sure that the ESP32 plus any components around it (e.g. a LDO converting 12V to 3.3V) can get rid of their heat, though. And obviously don't make the enclosure out of metal unless you have an external WiFi antenna.
