ESP32-S3FN8 recommended land pattern

Postby Mister T. » Wed Oct 30, 2024 3:45 pm

Hello there,

At the moment I am creating our own new component library for the ESP32-S3FN8. And I am looking for the recommended land pattern. The url in the datasheet is giving me an http 404 webpage and the download button on the ESP32 soc webpage is only downloading an asc file and not the also expected dxf. Could somebody please help me?

Kind regards,
Mister T.

Hi, we have updated the recommended land pattern for ESP32-S3, migrating it from the DXF format to ASC. Please use the downloaded ASC file (https://www.espressif.com/sites/default ... tprint.asc) from the our website (https://www.espressif.com/en/products/socs) and import it into software such as PADS or Altium Designer.

We'll update the link in the ESP32-S3 datasheet in the next release. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

Hi, I have tried it in every possible way to import this asc file into altium, but I don't get a footprint. Just keep the dxf available, or add it to the pdf with all its dimensions and recommendations. Now I have to download it from a second party and I don't know if that is right. Also I would like to see a 3D-model of all the SoCs and modules. Using a 3D-model I could confirm that the footprint is correct.

Kind regards,
Mister T.

Hi, sorry for the late reply.

We checked, and the file should open in Altium Designer. You could try saving it as a .PcbDoc file in Altium and then reopening it. If you still have trouble, please feel free to reach our to our support team: https://www.espressif.com/en/contact-us ... -inquiries.

Thank you for the suggestion about 3D models for all the SoCs and modules. I’ve passed your request to the relevant team, and we’ll definitely consider it in our future plans.
