What error do you get when you try to flash it? And how are you flashing it? From ESP-IDF or Arduino IDE?

How would I go about flashing my own firmware? If it uses OTA, can I just post my compiled firmware to the bulb directly somehow without the app?

ESP-MDF would work fine for my use-case. So Arduino support is not that essential. :D Is the Android app the only way to flash custom firmware? I"m on a Macbook and iPhone.
