Yeah, you won't need to have the Attiny. The attiny does the processing part in this case, so now with esp32, you can just have the ESP32 do the work.

ESP3212 (almost identical to ESP12E form factor) is out on AI-Thinker but currently the price is very high.

It's current pricing shown is 1000 yuan = 149.65USD. I'm not sure if this is an error but look forward for it!
